Holmsdale Manor Nursery, established in 1986 by Janet and Andrew Ward, offers a nurturing environment for children in Ibstock. With Janet's background as an infant school teacher, the nursery was founded on the principle of providing high-quality, personalised care.
Their daughter, Katie, now a qualified early years teacher, continues to uphold the family's legacy. The nursery has expanded to encompass over 2 acres of beautiful grounds, including Grove Wood, home to their pioneering Forest School, which was one of the first in Leicestershire.
Holmsdale Manor Nursery believes in fostering a love for learning through play and exploration, both indoors and in their extensive outdoor areas. They prioritise a holistic approach to early childhood education, with a strong emphasis on nature-based learning.
The dedicated and highly qualified staff, many with advanced degrees and Forest School certifications, work to create a homely setting where each child's individual needs are met and their interests are sparked.
Our ethos

What it's like
Children demonstrate a love of learning and are excited to share their ideas, confidently discussing what will happen if they leave tubs of water outside overnight. They are keen to try things for themselves, particularly when practising physical skills, and persevere to scoop gloop from one tray to another. Children develop close relationships with staff, happily seeking cuddles and listening carefully during story time.
Charges are structured around four packages on either an all year round (AYR) or term time (TT) basis. Fees include additional daily charges for meals, health and hygiene (M/HH), and extra-curricular activities (EC) depending on the child's age, booking pattern, and funded hours claimed.

My son goes to Holiday Club. And he loves it! They have so much fun there, such as woodwork, day trips, forest school, children go for walks, spend a lot of time outside. Teachers are all so nice and friendly. I totally recommend it 🤩
