I Learn Education in Scunthorpe strives to prepare children for all aspects of life, not just academics. Their mission, aptly named “life readiness”, focuses on developing strong social and emotional skills, fostering independence in personal care, and cultivating curiosity about the world around them.
The nursery places a strong emphasis on outdoor play within its ethos, encouraging children to take appropriate risks, learn from mistakes, and engage in adventurous activities. This approach promotes physical activity, helps prevent future obesity, and reduces the risk of illness.
I Learn Education also encourages non-gender-specific play, providing children the freedom to explore and learn without societal judgments, and supporting them in challenging stereotypes. The nursery is fully inclusive, offers funded places, and is Ofsted registered.
They are committed to employing fully qualified staff and provide flexible contracts and hours, a friendly and welcoming environment, and also offer before and after school care as well as a holiday club.

Inclusion & environment
Practitioners implement strategies to support children with special educational needs/disabilities (SEND). They use picture cards, sign language and visual prompts, which enables children to communicate their needs.
Children have exciting opportunities to develop and strengthen their large and small muscles. Practitioner provide hands-on experiences for children in the forest school, where children learn how to use various tools, boil water and cook food on an open fire safely.
This was our 1st choice nursery! We can literally see it from our house. Unfortunately they discriminate against families with multiple children. Our twins have been on the waiting list since they were 6months old, they are now 3.5years old!! All our neighbours with only 1 child on the waiting list, and other parents we have spoken to, who put their names down after us, have all got places. When we have spoken to the nursery, they tell us when 1 space opens up they have to fill it! Now this is discrimination and unfair, we want the best for our twins, however treatment like this, is not going to help their development, no one plans to have twins, so they shouldn’t be treated any differently! If they are on the waiting list, they should both be kept in place and not pushed to the back. It’s a real shame as there is some lovely staff at ilearn.
