About this day nursery

Jelly Babies Day Nursery, established in 2024, provides a welcoming all-year-round environment for children aged 0-4 years. The nursery operates from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, closing only for a week between Christmas and New Year.

The staff create engaging learning environments both indoors and in the secure outdoor space, carefully selecting resources to suit each child's developmental stage and interests. There is a balanced approach with adult-led activities and opportunities for children to initiate their own play.

The curriculum is designed around the prime areas of learning, with staff identifying key knowledge and skills for different developmental stages. The nursery promotes children's emotional well-being through personalised settling-in arrangements and an effective key person system.

Support for children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) is generally effective, with staff demonstrating a strong understanding of children's needs and setting appropriate development targets. Specialists offer valuable support for strategies, though leaders acknowledge ongoing work to maximise progress for all children with SEND.

Children are encouraged to develop independence, from young children gaining confidence on outdoor equipment to pre-schoolers helping with mealtime preparations. The nursery also plays an active role in the community, organising fundraising for local causes and educational trips.

Parents appreciate the feedback they receive and feel well-informed about their child's learning and prepared for school transitions. Jelly Babies Day Nursery received a Good rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 16th July 2025.
