Jimbo's Community Nursery, part of Leeds Mencap, is dedicated to providing exceptional care and early education within a nurturing environment. This unique Leeds nursery features a specialist playroom for children with a wide array of learning disabilities and additional needs, ensuring an inclusive experience.

The facilities are bright, airy, and comprehensively equipped, offering access to soft play and sensory rooms for stimulating development. The nursery operates on the belief that children thrive when they feel secure, content, and engaged.

They adhere to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which guides the learning, development, and care of young children from birth to five years old. This approach explores seven vital learning areas, tailored to each child's individual abilities, interests, and needs, acknowledging that every child learns and develops at their own unique pace.

Their goal is to offer all children an inclusive and supportive start to their early education, providing specialised assistance to help them transition successfully to the next stage of their learning journey. A dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) offers advice and support to families of children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND).

Children with SEND are primarily based in either the specialist playroom or the mainstream nursery, with opportunities to integrate into other rooms for specific activities or to be with same-aged peers, facilitating smooth transitions to other nurseries, primary schools, or specialised provisions.

Pricing & funding

Fees are structured around full day and half-day sessions for both regular nursery care and school holiday clubs, alongside after school care. Standard nursery fees and after school provisions include meals, school pickup, or tea where appropriate.
