JJ's Kiddycare, located in a scenic rural setting between South Kilworth and Welford, offers a nurturing and stimulating environment for children. The nursery is managed by a mother and daughter duo, June Wattam and Jenni Cheney, who bring a combined 62 years of experience in early childhood education.

They are committed to providing a home-from-home atmosphere where children can learn and grow. The nursery operates Monday to Thursday, from 7:45 am to 5:30 pm, 51 weeks a year, closing on Fridays, bank holidays, and the period between Christmas and New Year.

Emphasising the importance of early years, JJ's Kiddycare focuses on developing children's communication, social, and physical skills through exploration and creativity. They encourage independence and teach essential life skills in preparation for school, such as self-care, preparing snacks, and clearing up.

The curriculum incorporates the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, fostering active learning through play, both indoors and outdoors. A significant portion of the learning day is spent outdoors, with activities designed to inspire imagination and natural curiosity.

The nursery also works closely with parents and schools to ensure a smooth transition for children entering formal education. Serving families from Welford, South Kilworth, Husbands Bosworth, and Naseby, JJ's Kiddycare aims to instil confidence and creativity, providing a strong foundation for future learning.

What it's like

Children show a high level of involvement in activities. They are physically active and manage risks in their play, for example, pre-school children climb onto large soft-play shapes and jump off safely. Children work cooperatively as a team, show kindness to their friends and respond quickly to staff's approach to help them to behave positively.
