About this day nursery

Kettering Childcare, established in 2016, provides a good standard of early years education for children aged 1 to 4 years old. Open 51 weeks a year, Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm, the nursery focuses on promoting independence and positive behaviour.

Children at Kettering Childcare arrive happily and confidently, and staff are vigilant in their supervision, teaching children about safety while playing. The nursery prides itself on high expectations for children, encouraging self-care and independence in daily routines.

The curriculum includes a wide range of activities, including sensory experiences, catering to all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those who speak English as an additional language (EAL). Staff provide effective one-to-one support for children with SEND, ensuring full participation.

Outdoor learning is a key part of the provision, with staff taking parental input into account to broaden children's experiences, especially for those with fewer opportunities for outdoor play at home. Children develop physical skills through activities like skittles, ball games, and large construction play.

The nursery was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in June 2021.

Our ethos

Kettering Childcare focuses on developing social skills, independence, and confidence from an early age, positioning itself as a nursery school that supports early learning rather than just a care option. The dedicated staff create a stimulating environment that encourages communication, positive behaviour, and social interaction through play-based activities. They aim to prepare children for primary school by fostering independence, routines, and essential learning concepts within a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

How they support every child

SEND provision

All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) take part in a wide range of activities. One-to-one support for children who have SEND is effective in enabling them to take part in all the activities.

Staff take account of information from parents when planning, enabling them to successfully broaden children's experiences as some children have fewer opportunities for outdoor play. Children develop their physical skills as they play skittles, learn to catch balls and build structures using large construction toys.

My four year old has been with KCC since she was one and she absolutely loves it there, so much that she says she doesn’t want to go to “big school” as she’d miss her friends. The staff create such a conducive environment for adequate child development. Parents are kept up to date and very well informed about our kids and are very much supported if there’s any concerns. KCC came through massively when I needed childcare for my six week old son at a short notice.

If you are looking for a low budget nursery where you child is left to go toilet on there own or expected to wipe their own nose then this is the nursery for you. Currently under new management which are oblivious to each child's needs and requirements. There are much better childcare facilities available in Kettering.

My son is so happy here, the outings a regular. They listened to my needs for my son and put me at ease, they worked with him over not eating at lunch and within a week he was happily sitting and eating with the other children. They strive to keep your child happy and content while with them couldn't recommend them more
