The nursery received a "Good" rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 12th May 2023, reflecting its commitment to providing a high-quality early years experience. Children eagerly greet staff with smiles and hugs, demonstrating a strong sense of belonging and well-being supported by secure and trusting relationships.

The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to meet individual learning needs, with staff possessing excellent knowledge of each child's development. This is evident in activities that foster independence, such as children pouring milk on their cereal, and promote creativity and physical skills through real-life experiences like grating carrots in a pretend kitchen.

The manager holds early years teacher status and is highly knowledgeable about Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), sharing this expertise effectively with the staff team. This ensures exceptional support for children with SEND, with robust strategies in place to facilitate considerable progress from their starting points.

Staff use visual aids, like lanyards with pictures, to enhance communication and language development for these children. While children are happy and engaged, staff are working to improve transitions between activities to ensure smoother and more focused learning experiences.

The setting also provides a variety of freshly cooked meals, encouraging healthy eating habits and adapting menus for children with sensory needs to ensure full inclusion during mealtimes.

This knowledge is shared well with the staff team, and as a result, staff have a good understanding of how to support children with SEND, for example, by wearing lanyards with pictures to help promote children's communication and language. The support for children with SEND is exceptional, and staff have robust strategies in place to ensure that children with SEND make considerable progress from their starting points.

Outdoor space

Overall, children are engaged and happy in their play. However, staff do not manage transitions well enough. For example, as children come in from outdoor play, they sing, dance and run around the room.
