Inclusion & environment
Leaders and staff provide excellent support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). They work in close partnership with external agencies, such as educational psychologists, to develop effective target plans tailored to each child's needs. Leaders make good use of additional funding to ensure that children with SEND benefit from targeted resources and support, including one-to-one interactions and access to a sensory room.
Children experiment with water, exploring concepts of volume by filling containers and pouring water through different tubes. Staff make excellent use of outdoor areas to spark children's curiosity about nature. They plan, sketch and build insect houses and grow their own herbs and vegetables.
Staff use a variety of strategies to support children who may find communication more challenging, including those who speak English as an additional language.
Kids Planet Durham is a fantastic day nursery. My child has attended for over 2 years, starting in toddlers room and leaving from pre-school. He has had a great experience the whole time and as parents we are so happy with the level of care our child has received. The management and staff are exceptional and are truly caring. There are core members of staff in each room so the children see regular staff every day. The facilities are excellent and the food has also been very good. This nursery goes above and beyond in all areas of the nursery. There is a big playground/garden out the back as well where kids have lots of room to run around. The 15/30 hours of funded childcare can also be spread over 51 weeks which has worked very well for us, ensuring we have care all year round for our children while we both work.
Read on GoogleWe have been part of the Do-re-mi family since 2014 when my son started in the baby room until he went to school. My daughter started in 2017 and is currently in pre-school- Fantastic nursery, dedicated staff- 100% recommend. My children have been so happy there.
