The management and staff are highly ambitious, implementing a comprehensive and innovative curriculum that is tailored to each child's unique interests and developmental needs. This approach ensures that every child, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), receives targeted support through individual learning plans developed in collaboration with parents and other agencies.
The nursery places a strong emphasis on early intervention and carefully monitors each child's progress. Children at Kids Planet Southfield are described as extremely happy, settled, and secure, forming close bonds with staff.
They display high levels of confidence and independence, even taking on tasks like serving their own lunch. The nursery continuously self-evaluates, making improvements such as adding new doors to some rooms for easier access to outdoor areas for children and installing low-level sinks for young children.
Recent enhancements to the outdoor learning environment include a tepee in the garden to accommodate pre-school children as the nursery expands. Staff skilfully model a wide range of vocabulary and foster a strong focus on early literacy, encouraging children to engage with stories daily, even challenging parents to read with their children at home.
The staff's comprehensive knowledge of child development underpins this highly ambitious curriculum.

Our son has been at kids planet for 2 years now and absolutely loves it, from day one of our looking around nursery he’s absolutely loved it. He took straight to Kim and Nicole in the baby room and each room he’s moved up to has always loved the staff there. I know all the staff have such a care for the kids and do everything they can. I completely trust the care of the nursery and would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.
Read on GoogleSince my little boy joined kids planet Southfield 10 months ago he has never been happier. The level of care provided is amazing. My little boy is cared for by the girls as if he was one of their own children. He always comes out happy and tells me all about his day, they share regular updates about what he’s been doing and there is always lots of different varieties of activity on offer
Read on GoogleIt's such a shame to have to give this nursery 1 star as lots of the room staff are wonderful. Kim, Erin, Debbie and Amanda in particular as they have cared for and loved our son for so long. I would trust them implicitly with my child, just not the terrible environment they have to work in or the management they have to work under. However, the management is poor, the supervision is questionable a lot of the time. A child was able to go into the bathroom and flush a toilet my child was sitting on with no kind of intervention, causing my son to be upset. No feedback has been provided about this matter despite being promised that it would, it's not the first time requests for feedback over incidents have been ignored. We had a major incident where they took the children out, there is still no real evidence that rescue medication was carried, and bought them chocolate at the shop. Completely excluding my child and offering him carrots and blueberries whilst the other children had chocolate. I am so angry at myself for giving another chance after this. The manager often blames other staff for issues, including blaming previous management which is unfair as Amanda would always hold her hands up to mistakes and act upon these. Safeguarding concerns around not understanding medical needs or sharing appropriate information with staff, including not sharing a wheeze management plan then firstly claiming we hadn't shared it then blaming the room staff when it was evidenced we had, again, Amanda was blamed for this. The manager seems to have little clue about what is going on in rooms and will often claim her being in ratio elsewhere as an excuse. They have attempted to gaslight us as parents to cover up their misgivings and have collected themselves and array of positive reviews to try to make this disappear. It's worth checking out Kids Planet of Trust pilot to see that we are not the only parents who have experienced such terrible situations with Kids Planet.
