Ladybird Pre-School Nursery, situated in Sheringham, welcomes children from 18 months old until they begin primary school. The nursery focuses on a 'curiosity' approach to learning, adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and employing 'in the moment planning' alongside enhanced provisions to foster engagement and development.
They utilise open-ended resources, including loose parts and natural materials, to encourage exploration and critical thinking. The nursery also takes children on educational visits to local community spots like the seaside, Sheringham Park, and the fire station.
To help children with emotional regulation, Ladybird Pre-School Nursery uses the 'Zones of Regulation' social-emotional learning programme. Each child is assigned a key person to tailor care and learning to individual needs, and an online e-learning journal called Tapestry is used to record development and facilitate parent-nursery collaboration.
The nursery maintains strong links with local primary schools to ensure a smooth transition for children moving on to reception.

Inclusion & environment
The provision for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is good. Staff work closely with parents and other agencies to ensure that children receive the support they require. Their individual plans and interactions are tailored to meet the needs of the children, and staff differentiate their teaching for children with speech and language delay.
Staff operate a free-flow system for children to access the outdoors, where they enjoy getting messy. They mix soil and water together in the mud kitchen and tip, pour and transport it into different-size containers. This helps children to explore mathematical concepts, such as weight, capacity and volume.
Excellent setting, wonderful staff. I couldn't recommend a nursery more! My child loves it there and is thriving, both socially and academically.
