Ladybirds Day Nursery in Wisbech operates during term-time, providing a warm and welcoming environment for children aged 2 to 4 years. Established in 1995 and under current ownership since 2011, the nursery offers a comprehensive learning experience from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 3 pm.
The nursery was rated as 'Good' by Ofsted in its latest inspection on 20th September 2023. Staff at Ladybirds Day Nursery are adept at identifying and supporting children who may be experiencing developmental delays, ensuring that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are fully included and make excellent progress from their individual starting points.
Children develop fine motor skills through activities like manipulating dough and clay, and outside, they are encouraged to safely explore and assess risks while building with crates and planks. The curriculum is ambitious, designed to help children make good progress across all areas of learning.
Children, including those with English as an additional language, are well-supported in developing their communication and language skills, with staff introducing new words and promoting a love for reading. The setting also broadens children's understanding of the world through diverse activities, such as learning about Australia and its wildlife, or creating Picasso-inspired art.
The consistent routine helps children feel emotionally secure and fosters independence, leading to a calm and engaging atmosphere for learning.
