Children are encouraged to develop personal skills and confidence as they move through the nursery. Leaders ensure a language-rich environment, promoting opportunities for children to use new vocabulary.

Staff effectively identify and support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), working closely with parents to implement targets and plans, ensuring continuous progress and preventing learning gaps from widening. Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Leaders work effectively to identify and support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. They work closely with parents, implement targets, and put plans in place for children while waiting for additional professional support. This means that children continue to progress and any gaps in their learning do not continue to grow.

Outdoor space

Staff help children to understand the importance of taking calculated risks. For example, staff and children wear puddle suits and slide down the hill on wet tarpaulin. This allows children to explore risks in a monitored manner in the presence of adults.

Conflicting views when I picked up my child, one teacher saying on the app he’s been fine, another telling his nan that they’ve struggled and when she’s turned up he’s been hysterical and crying. They weren’t being clear or finding ways with myself to settle my son. They kept ringing me up to come collect him and for around a month, was making me staff in the classroom where he wouldn’t settle at all because he expected me to be there. This nursery seems to be about making money and not the child’s wellbeing. After pulling him out and emailing through, there was no correspondence or communication. He’s now at a much better nursery and thriving at JJs early explorers,

A happy relaxed nursery. My little girl is shy but flourishes here. They really attend to her medical issues and were involved in saving her life once. My child is healthy, happy and safe at Ladybirds.
