Little Acers Pre School, established in 2006, is a happy, nurturing pre-school for children aged 2 to 4 years, operating during term-time from 9am to 3pm in the Sure Start Centre, Bowsland Green Primary School. Rated Outstanding by Ofsted on 3 February 2023, the pre-school ensures children settle quickly and enthusiastically engage with friends and staff, to whom they have strong attachments.
The dedicated staff provide a broad and ambitious curriculum, attentively observing children's interests and learning styles to tailor activities, such as creating cosy reading areas. All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make very good progress, with key staff offering sensitive guidance and support across all learning areas.
Children are encouraged to experiment and explore, discovering new ways to mix colours or creating imaginative designs with child-sized tools. The pre-school fosters exemplary behaviour through consistent modelling of respectful language and discussions about emotions, leading to children sharing, taking turns, and resolving differences amicably.
Staff excel in supporting language and communication, using clear, expressive storytelling and signing, which helps children, including those learning English as an additional language, to develop quickly. The pre-school celebrates diversity through initiatives like 'language of the month' and 'All About Me' books.
Children enjoy regular woodland walks, learning to respect the natural environment, observe seasonal changes, and identify hazards. Parents highly commend the staff's commitment to their children's safety and well-being, appreciating the regular communication, particularly the 'window of the week' online, and are delighted with their children's progress and readiness for future learning.

The whole team is working with incredible dedication. In September, my son had his first nursery experience here. While I was initially worried about how he would separate from me, now I’m thinking about how we will part ways with this school. They are definitely doing a fantastic job and inspire complete trust. I highly recommend them to everyone.
