Little Acorns Day Nursery (Springfield) is located in Wigan and provides care for children aged from one to four years. 30am and 6pm all year, except for bank holidays and one week at Christmas.

At its inspection in April 2026, Ofsted judged the nursery's overall effectiveness to be Requires Improvement. The inspector found that leaders have a clear vision, but the quality of staff teaching and interactions is variable.

Leaders and staff create a curriculum for all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). An effective key-person system is in place, and staff form strong bonds with the children.

Children enjoy listening to stories, singing songs, and have daily opportunities for fresh air and outdoor play. However, Ofsted noted that weaknesses in staff deployment meant that some children were not always supported well enough to make consistently good progress.

Little Acorns Day Nursery is committed to providing individualised care within a nurturing, "home from home" environment that fosters each child's unique qualities and confidence. They adhere to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, ensuring activities are geared towards achieving early learning goals.
