South Street Baptist Church in Brierley Hill is a welcoming and relaxed community, comprised of approximately 20 individuals from diverse backgrounds. The church is dedicated to serving Jesus, sharing faith, and building community, striving to be a channel for God's peace and love.
They aim to create an accepting environment where everyone is valued and forgiveness is central. The church encourages members to learn together, seeking the Kingdom of God and experiencing the fullness of life that Jesus promised.
They believe in the transformative message of God's love, as demonstrated through Jesus Christ, and endeavour to embody this goodness in their actions. The community gathers weekly for worship, prayer, and to learn more about Jesus, celebrating communion to remember his sacrifice and new life.
On the first Sunday of each month, they host a 'Café Church' where they eat together. Beyond their Sunday services, the church actively supports its local area by helping to run the Foodbank on Mondays and Wednesdays, and by providing their building as a resource for other community groups.
They extend a warm invitation to anyone seeking connection, comfort, or spiritual guidance.
Our ethos
We want to be known as a genuinely open, welcoming and loving church. So we try to be a channel of God’s peace and love to all who we meet, serving our neighbours, sharing their burdens, and offering an accepting and welcoming space. So we try to work together as the body of Christ in which: everyone is of equal value and truly members one of another and where grace and forgiveness have the final word. So we try to encourage others to become learners with us: in seeking first the Kingdom of God, in experiencing the fullness of life that Jesus promised.

Inclusion & environment
The manager identifies any gaps in children's learning and puts plans in place to address these, making appropriate adaptations to meet the needs of children with additional needs. Staff plan termly outings for children, parents or carers and staff. These trips focus on helping children to learn to take manageable risks and experience physical challenge in their play, such as visiting soft-play establishments and adventure playgrounds.
