About this day nursery

Little Adventures Nursery in Taunton, established in 2021, is a childcare setting for children aged 0-4 years. The nursery operates year-round from 7:30 to 18:00, Monday to Friday.

The dedicated team at Little Adventures Nursery focuses on providing a stimulating and inclusive environment, aligning with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. Leaders and staff are committed to ongoing improvements and have made significant changes since their last inspection, evident in the enhanced teaching practices and staff well-being initiatives.

The nursery prides itself on its highly responsive and respectful care practices, with a strong key-person system that ensures each child's individual needs are met. This approach creates a safe and secure environment, particularly for babies and new starters.

The setting prioritises inclusion, ensuring all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), have equal opportunities to access the full curriculum. The nursery actively works with parents and other professionals, including speech and language therapists and dieticians, to tailor support for children with SEND.

While great consideration is given to outdoor learning, with ongoing efforts to enhance the gardens, leaders are reviewing routines to ensure learning is maximised during transitions to outdoor play. The staff also skilfully promote communication and language development, using sign language, visual aids, and props.

Little Adventures Nursery provides a nurturing space where children are encouraged to be independent, develop strong social skills, and build a solid foundation for their journey to school.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

All children, including those with particular social and emotional needs associated with their special educational needs and/or disabilities, are given opportunities throughout the day and have access to dedicated spaces to take time out of the busyness if they feel overwhelmed or need some quiet or rest. Leaders and staff are quick to identify gaps in children's learning and take swift and well-thought-out actions to tailor support to the needs of individual children. Key people proactively act on advice from medical professionals, such as speech and language therapists and dieticians.

Outdoor space

Consideration is given to the curriculum outdoors. Leaders and staff are actively working to enhance the gardens to broaden children's opportunities for learning when playing outdoors. During transition times to prepare to play outdoors, staff do not ensure learning is fully maximised for children.

EAL / language support

Staff skilfully promote children's communication and language development. For example, staff make effective use of sign language alongside spoken language. They ably use visual aids and props to support children to extend their vocabulary.

Can’t recommend this nursery enough. They have been wonderful in supporting my daughter and I during the transition of her starting here, which neither of us have found easy. They are kind, compassionate and genuinely caring, making adaptations where possible to make things a little easier. The staff are genuinely invested in her, especially supporting her to settle in. I adore the photos updates we receive on the app, it’s so reassuring to be able to see she has settled and what she is up to. The meals are also outstanding. So grateful x

We couldn't be happier with Little Adventures Nursery in Taunton L. From the very beginning, the team made us feel welcome and completely reassured about leaving our child in their care. The staff are kind, attentive and genuinely passionate about what they do, which really shows in how happy and settled the children are. The activities are always creative and engaging, it's lovely to see how much effort goes into supporting each child development and confidence. The new management team go above and beyond to make sure us as parents are informed of any changes and kept fully updated, which gives us real peace of mind. It's such a warm, nurturing environment and we feel so lucky to have found them. We would highly recommend Little Adventures Nursery to any parent looking for a safe, caring and inspiring place for their child.

This is by far the best nursery I have came across in the uk. My children love and enjoy every moment. The staff is caring and go the extra mile. Most importantly I would like to thank the chef for her wonder and nutritious meals. My children even ask to go to yhe nursery on weekends, that's how much they love it there. Not to forget that they get to play at the soft play area for free

This is an amazing nursery, the children get to experience the most amazing meals made by our chef and get to play with the incredible soft play next door. The children also get to play with incredible tuff trays made by the members of staff. Couldn’t recommend this nursery enough.
