About this day nursery

Little Blossom Nursery School is a family-operated institution established by owners with extensive backgrounds in childcare, education, and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Their vision was to create a nursery that offers high-quality, adaptable childcare at accessible prices.

The nursery places a strong emphasis on continuous active learning, encouraging children to engage with, critically assess, and appreciate all aspects of their nursery experience. The children's interests and preferences are central to the planning of activities and learning opportunities.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework is interwoven throughout the daily curriculum, focusing on key areas such as physical development, communication and language, and personal, social, and emotional growth. Little Blossom fosters a supportive environment where children can build strong bonds with familiar staff through a comprehensive Key Person system, promoting independence and confidence as they prepare for future educational stages.

The Leavesden branch specifically caters to children aged 2 to 5 years, with plans to expand to include children from 12 months in September 2024. It features a cosy toddler room for younger children and a larger nursery room for older preschoolers, both benefiting from a private, fully enclosed garden for stimulating outdoor play.

The nursery provides rolling snack times with healthy options and encourages children to self-prepare snacks and engage in social mealtimes. It is conveniently located for commuters with excellent links to the local community, including churches and schools, and is situated near major motorways.

The teachers at Leavesden Blossom nursery are amazing, especially Kellie, Shona and Trudy. My toddler really loves nursery, and although we were nervous to sign him up at the start, he settled in very quickly! We get daily updates through an app where we can see what the children have been up to and can also speak to the teachers throughout the day. Would highly recommend!

My daughter Orlaith started at Little Blossoms when she just turned 3 years old. It was the first nursery she had ever attended and we were both apprehensive at her starting as it was such a big change for us both. However, Little Blossoms have the most incredible team who welcomed her in and made her feel so loved and comfortable. She absolutely thrived here and I loved hearing all about what she got up to and what she learned when she got home. You get updates and photos of their day through their app. There is so much for them to do and learn, lots of arts and crafts, messy play, role play, books, lots of toys and they have a big garden full of toys and activities for them to do. I would highly recommend little blossom nursery in Leavesden and can't thank the incredible team enough for how they looked after and cared for my daughter!
