About this day nursery

Little Companions Pre-School offers a nurturing and stimulating "home away from home" environment for children aged 2-5 years. The pre-school, rated Outstanding by Ofsted, focuses on developing children through play and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

Their highly qualified staff, including co-managers Naazish and Reema, utilise diverse teaching methods and maintain an excellent practioner-to-child ratio to ensure personalised attention. The curriculum is enriched with activities such as optional Arabic lessons, messy play, football, martial arts, and yoga.

Children also explore their local environment through trips to the high street, library, and tube, as well as engaging in outdoor learning in the surrounding wooded areas with activities like mud kitchen play and mini-beast hunts. For children preparing for school (3+ years), specialised play includes the PALS scheme for emotional literacy and extended numeracy and literacy play.

Little Companions supports children with additional needs through their SENCO and external specialists. They maintain strong partnerships with parents through weekly updates and an open-door policy, and support children with potty training at their own pace.

The pre-school has achieved "Five to Thrive Champion Status" for embedding practices that promote healthy brain development in early years.

All the staff are so kind and go above and beyond to make each day filled with learning and wonder. The team inspire learning with imagination, adventure and fun. The nursery leaders are in regular contact by email with photo updates as well as giving updates on collection. My son loved coming here and we loved hearing about each day when he came home, it's a shame it's his time to move on!
