Little Latham Farmers, located in Gomersal, and its sister nursery, Little Latham House in Birkenshaw, offer quality childcare with an emphasis on learning through play and extensive outdoor activities. Both locations prioritise a safe and welcoming environment, with staff assessing activities based on the weather and children's developmental stages.
The nurseries operate Monday to Friday from 7:45 am to 5:45 pm. At Little Latham House, the curriculum aligns with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), covering seven key areas of learning, ensuring comprehensive development for children from birth to five years.
The Birkenshaw setting also incorporates a Forest School ethos, providing unique outdoor experiences such as a mud kitchen, vegetable patch, art cabin, and interaction with animals. Both nurseries receive glowing testimonials from parents, who praise the caring and enthusiastic staff, the home-cooked meals, and the variety of engaging activities.
The use of the Famly app keeps parents updated with their child's progress and daily activities. The Gomersal branch currently has a waiting list until September 2026, indicating its popularity.

Inspector highlights
Inclusion & environment
Leaders prioritise staff development through training in special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and speech and language, ensuring qualified staff are well equipped to effectively support all children. The nursery particularly excels at including children with SEND, and staff ensure they support the most vulnerable children to take part in all activities and opportunities. The inspector also discussed how staff support children with SEND.
Children have many hands-on experiences, including building dens in the forest school area and helping bottle feed baby lambs in the onsite farm. Children can practice physical skills and take safe risks in the forest school, around the fire pit, and on outdoor climbing equipment, with staff helping them identify dangers and teaching them how to stay safe. The inspector observed the quality and education being provided for all children, both indoors and outdoors.
My son and daughter attended LLF as nursery children and both loved every second of it. They returned this February 2026 half term and had such a great time, they begged to stay later on the last day. Full of activities indoors and out Libby and the team do an amazing job. Both children can’t wait to return. A big thank you from all of us.
Read on GoogleI have three children in at Little Latham Farmers. A little Duckling, a little Tractor and a little Farmer. I couldn't be happier for the care my children have. The range of activities and learning opportunities are outstanding. I have children ranging from the baby room to pre-school and every single detail is to enable the child to engage, have fun, feel safe, try new things, become independent and confident as they progress into school. I particularly love the amount of outdoor learning offered, the range of activities and the parent engagement opportunities. Also the home cooked food is phenomenal! I can't thank the team enough for the love they show my children, I beem with pride that I'm lucky enough for them to attend a nursery as amazing as this and it makes it all worthwhile when I see my beautiful little babies on the regular updates we receive too. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I can't recommend you enough!
Read on GoogleAlthough our little girl has only been at Little Latham Farmers 6 months, we couldn’t be happier with our choice of nursery! The communication in person and on the app is outstanding. All staff go the extra mile in delivering fantastic activities and caring for our little one. All the themed events are fantastic and it means so much that grandparent mornings are arranged too. Not forgetting the amazing home cooked food daily by Nanny Jane - the children are very lucky! Thank you, Libby and all the team. We are forever grateful ❤️
Read on GoogleMy little boy started at LLF in December and I was worried how he would settle as he was so clingy. After a couple of weeks with the lovely nursery staff in Little Ducklings class, he now gets excited each morning to go in and often doesn’t want to leave when I pick him up him up!! He has also developed so much in such a short time and I know much of that is down to the nursery staff and activities. I am constantly reassured he is having a wonderful time with photos and updates filled with exciting and well thought out activities. We are incredibly grateful he gets to attend such a special nursery in an amazing setting. Even just driving down the farm each morning is a reminder of how lucky he is to spend time among all of the animals and environment. I couldn’t recommend it enough!
