Little Owls Meanwood is a Leeds-based nursery for children aged three months to five years, situated conveniently off the A61 for commuting parents. The nursery is surrounded by leafy parks and boasts a large outdoor play area where children are encouraged to explore and develop their inquisitiveness.
A warm, safe, and respectful environment is a core commitment, aided by highly trained staff and qualified teachers who support the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. The team includes in-house lead practitioners specialising in areas like maths, language, and communication, all dedicated to giving children the best possible start.
The nursery also provides dedicated support for children with Special Educational Needs, ensuring accessibility and collaborative efforts with outside agencies. Parents are kept informed through the free Tapestry app, which shares key moments, photos, and observations of their child's learning and progress.
Each child benefits from a key worker and a significant other, ensuring consistent contact and understanding between the nursery and families. The nursery offers competitive fees, with options for wrap-around care in addition to funded childcare schemes.

Inclusion & environment
A particular strength of the nursery is the arrangements for supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. For example, the deputy manager works alongside staff, parents and other agencies to create tailored plans to help children while they wait for specialist support.
Children have plenty of opportunities to play and explore outdoors. They develop good physical skills as they run around in the fresh air and use their imagination to become different animals. Children benefit from fresh air and physical exercise every day. Staff encourage children to explore the environment and provide activities for children who prefer to learn outside.
A massive thank you to all of the team at Little Owls Nursery. It is refreshing to be kept updated on my childs progress in nursery, what they eaten/not eaten and the targets for them to improve/meet their milestones. A big "shout out" to both Nathan and Teresa as they have been extremely informative on the progress my child has made. Lastly, thank you to all of those members of staff who helped/organise the Christmas carol event at the nursery. A special moment, I will forever hold as seeing my child being apart of it was incredible/emotional. Have an amazing Christmas and a happy new year. You guys deserve the break.
