Little Pips Nursery in Chippenham provides care and education for children from birth to four years old. It operates all year round, with opening hours from 7.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. The day nursery is registered to offer government-funded childcare for eligible two, three, and four-year-olds, and also accepts tax-free childcare payments. The most recent Ofsted inspection in June 2023 rated the day nursery's overall effectiveness as Good.

The inspector reported that staff monitor children's development closely and plan a child-centred curriculum. Children’s communication and language skills are well supported through narrative and modelling. The report highlighted that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive very good support from staff with extensive knowledge of their needs. Outdoors, older children were seen creating dens with loose parts. To improve further, the inspector recommended that staff help children to develop their independence skills more consistently, especially at mealtimes.

Pricing & funding

Fees include enhanced provision for private hours. Government funding covers statutory provision only, with a voluntary hourly charge requested to access enhanced services during these hours. Additional private hours that make up part of a day are charged at a flat hourly rate.
