Inclusion & environment
Inclusive practice ensures that all children who face barriers to learning and/or with special educational needs and/or disabilities have the same quality experiences. Specific strategies are in place to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including personalised care, tailored teaching, and timely referrals to other agencies. Additional funding is used to purchase specialist resources and offer one-to-one support.
Physical development is prioritised through regular outdoor play in the different gardens across the nursery. Staff enthusiastically engage toddlers during outdoor play, leading to sustained interest as children explore nature and play imaginatively with real vegetables in the mud kitchen. Children also learn about safety during walks in the local community and get plenty of fresh air in all weathers.
I've sent both my children to little smarties and they are the most amazing setting that has allowed my children to flourish. The facilities are like none I've seen before and the staff are a range of ages which I think is great for development. Also child nutrition is really important for me, they provide options that are low in salt and sugar. Plus they are next to a trainline which my son is extremely grateful for 😅😊 5****** I'd give them more if I could
