How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff introduce activities which children benefit from, particularly those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff support children with SEND brilliantly. They work in partnership with other professionals, and they include learning strategies during circle time to support children's language development. For example, they use signs and words to help children to communicate and talk with others.

Outdoor space

Children have access to paint outdoors and enjoy painting the wooden fence. The manager and staff give children the choice of whether they would like to play indoors or outdoors. Children learn to appreciate nature and respect the environment and benefit from a range of rich learning experiences as they enjoy playing in the nearby woodland area.

Both of my children attend Little Star Nursery, and I honestly couldn’t recommend it more highly. From the very beginning, it was clear to us that this is a place where every child is truly seen, valued and loved. The team (who are all just wonderful people) treats each child as if they were their own - with such genuine care, kindness and attention. What really sets Little Star apart is the balance they strike between giving children the freedom to explore and learn, while also providing a safe, nurturing and structured environment. It’s the perfect foundation for little ones to grow in confidence, curiosity and creativity. My 16 month old is the perfect example of this who started there when he was 12 months old and is just thriving and absolutely loving his time there! The nursery places a strong emphasis on nature and outdoor learning, which has been wonderful for my children. From woodland walks to hands-on experiences with wildlife, they’re constantly discovering the world around them in the most engaging and enriching ways. Little Star Nursery is more than just childcare - it’s a magical start to a child’s journey. We feel incredibly lucky to be part of it.

I was really nervous about my son starting nursery but he runs through the door in the mornings, I think he actually enjoys it more than being home (which part of me is slightly miffed about). All the staff are so friendly and caring. I am amazed how much his speech has progressed in such a short time. They have such a variety of activities, be it out and about exploring on walks or messy play. I love the "artwork" he comes home with (sometimes on paper, sometimes on his t-shirt) We are so grateful for all the support, care and effort Little Stars go to everyday and will definitely be sending our second child there when they are old enough.
