In October 2022, Ofsted inspected the provision and gave it an overall rating of Good. The inspector reported that children are happy, confident, and independent in their daily routines, such as preparing their own snacks. Children are well-behaved and have good manners.

The day nursery provides regular outdoor learning opportunities, where children observe nature and draw. Other activities include exploring sounds and rhymes to support early literacy and practising throwing and catching to improve physical development. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are included in all activities, with staff using communication cards and adapting experiences to suit individual needs. According to the Ofsted report, parents are highly complimentary about the positive relationships their children have with staff.

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are fully included in the setting. Staff make communication cards to illustrate what is happening now and what will come next. Staff recognise when children need to access learning individually. For example, staff tailor group-time activities to enable children to participate at their own pace. Staff offer the same learning experiences to all children.

Outdoor space

Children love to learn outdoors. They weave in and out of the bamboo stalks and look for leaves on the floor of the 'jungle'. Children observe the different shapes and sizes of the leaves. Staff extend children's learning and provide clipboards and pencils for children to draw the leaves. Daily checks and risk assessments of the outside area ensure that it is safe to use before children go out to play.
