Children arrive happy and confident, showing a strong sense of belonging, and quickly settle into engaging activities. Staff implement a curriculum that prepares children for their next stage of learning, focusing on early literacy and language development.

The setting prides itself on meeting and supporting children's individual needs, particularly for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Children who require additional support are promptly identified, and comprehensive action is taken to provide the right support, including staff utilising British Sign Language training to improve communication.

Outdoors, children enjoy activities such as pouring and digging in the sandpit, using musical instruments, and washing toy cars in the garden, which helps develop their physical skills. My daughter started at Melbourn Playgroup earlier this year. She has settled very well and is very happy to go to PreSchool. She has a wonderful relationship with her key worker and the other members of staff. The staff are warm and caring and their communication from staff about my daughter is excellent. She always talks about the fun she has had painting, cooking and playing outside. A fabulous setting with a very warm, welcoming feel. My son also attended here and had the same wonderful experiences and still talks about his time at the setting and how much fun it was!

Both of our sons have attended Melbourn Playgroup and both have been really happy there. The staff are always so accommodating, caring and kind. They have stay and play/ craft sessions throughout the year, and small performances at Christmas/ end of term which are truly heartwarming. The close link between playgroup and Melbourn Primary School is fantastic too, and really helped to ease our eldest into Foundation stage.

My son attended Melbourn Playgroup from Age 3. He loved coming going to PreSchool here and made many new friends. They prepared him well for his transition to Melbourn Primary School. He loved the outside space at the setting and enjoyed all of the activities on offer. My daughter is currently at the setting and has settled very well this is because the staff are kind, caring and approachable. She has enjoyed her opportunity to attend Forest School and loved baking 'Gruffalo Crumble'. This is a wonderful setting to have in our village and I would highly recommend.

My son Freddie loved going to Melbourn Playgroup. They really looked after him and set him up for attending Melbourn primary school. His younger brother is now attending and also loving it! Staff are always kind and polite, and I know they care about my children.

Both my children have attended this nursery and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The key workers are fantastic and the communication between myself and them of what my children got up too weekly was great and lovely too see. Would highly recommended this setting for your child, if you are local to the area.
