About this day nursery

Millie's House Nursery & Pre-School, established in 2012, operates seven nurseries across West and Southwest London, aiming to provide accessible and flexible childcare for families. The New Malden branch at Cambridge Avenue is a 92-place facility for children aged three months to five years, conveniently located near the high street and train station.

The nursery is designed with four purpose-built rooms and three age-appropriate garden areas, fostering play, exploration, and learning. Children progress through different rooms based on their age: Discoverers (up to 18 months), Explorers (up to two years), Inventors (two to three years), and Little Einsteins (three to five years), each tailored to stimulate development.

The curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, focusing on child-led play and adult-guided experiences to build independence, resilience, problem-solving, and social skills. The experienced team, led by Nursery Manager Sheila Lanning and Deputy Manager Chloe Atkinson, is committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment, with ongoing professional development and training in paediatric first aid and safeguarding.

Our daughter has flourished since starting at Millie's House - she's just left to start 'big' school and I know that she is ready and confident thanks to her time at Millie's.The staff have been fantastic and nurturing arranging loads of fun themed days on top of their learning and playing. Nicole arranged interesting excursions which my daughter still talks about. Particular shout out to Chloe who made every day special. Her interaction with the children with endless patience and fun is incredible, her communication with parents was fantastic and she went above and beyond with everything, creating special mementoes for children and parents to enjoy and take home. Her concerts at Christmas and graduation left everyone in tears and I can't imagine how much work goes into them. Leaving for big school will be a real transition from the fun family vibes at Millie's.

Our daughter was at Millies Cambridge Avenue for 2.5 years, there were a few initial teething problems with high turnover of staff but this was resolved very quickly and she has since thrived there. She was in pre-school there and thanks to the incredible teaching, she has started school this week with no issues at all, and has already been praised for her excellent handwriting and reading, all down to the pre-school teachers. I would highly recommend!

My daughter loves going to Millie’s. She is attending for over a year now and her development has been amazing! They had issues with staff and managers like every business has had after Covid/Brexit, but that didn't affect the way children were cared for. Hopefully, the new manager will settle and improve the communication with families. The teachers are lovely and very attentive to children's needs.

Great nursery, the staff are lovely and friendly, the rooms are spacious with excellent resources and the toys and facilities are regularly updated. My son just finished at the pre-school - he had a wonderful time and is well prepared for starting primary school. My youngest child started a few months ago and is really blossoming as a result - she's learning to take turns, play with other children, and her vocabulary is expanding daily. The activities they arrange are varied and encourage imagination, creativity and develop the necessary skills for school such as counting, letter recognition etc. They also arrange events for parents to join in, such as summer parties, bbqs, graduation etc.
