How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities well. They identify specific needs early on and provide targeted support, working closely with other agencies to ensure children receive specialist support when needed.

Outdoor space

Children have many opportunities to learn about the world around them and to enjoy fresh air and exercise outdoors. For instance, staff take children out in the community for walks and adventures, such as experiencing rides on public transport. Babies also explore the indoor and outdoor areas confidently, making choices about their play.

EAL / language support

Children who speak English as an additional language are supported well. For example, parents share common key words in their home language and staff use visual prompts to further support children's language development.

The staff are the greatest asset at Monkey Puzzle. They are very caring, nurturing and friendly. Every day is filled with different creative activities that help little ones to learn and develop whilst having fun. My oldest has just started school and has transitioned well as the nursery has a great school readiness programme for the pre-school children. My youngest joined a few months ago and also loves it now. The nursery also has a good outdoor space and is only a few minutes walk from the station so it’s very convenient for commuters.

My son has been attending this nursery for almost two years, and he absolutely loves it there! The staff are warm, caring, and genuinely dedicated to the children’s wellbeing. He especially enjoys playing outside in their lovely garden, but what he really loves the most are the Hartbeeps sessions! The meals are always healthy and nutritious, and I love that they’re photographed twice a year so we have those special memories to look back on. They have regular parents evenings which is a a great opportunity to speak with key workers. I couldn’t recommend this nursery more, it’s been such a positive and nurturing environment for him.

Our son started at Monkey Puzzle just as he turned one. I was really anxious about starting nursery but I can confidently say, the staff at monkey puzzle just made the transition better than I could have ever imagined. Our son loves going to nursery, he adores everyone who looks after him and regularly at the weekend will mention their names. We couldn’t have asked for a more special place for our son to spend his time whilst we are at work! Thank you to everyone who make this nursery so great!

My son loves it here. They have a special day called Hartbeeps where they have a theme to explore and have fun with every week. The meal plans are good, and my son eats with extra serving. The staff make sure that we are updated with his milestones and needs. Something really important for an Asian mom, is that everyone takes off their shoes indoors. The nursery being in the ground floor is a plus too!

Fantastic nursery. Our son was in the baby room until we moved and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff are very caring and attentive and he absolutely loved all the sensory activities and themes they had each week.
