Inclusion & environment
The needs of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), and those with delays or potential delays in their development, are well met. The special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) meets with families, multi- agencies and staff to ensure that targets are met and that children make good progress. Families speak highly about the additional support they have received and how open the setting is to supporting the needs of individual children.
In the forest school, children understand boundaries, such as 'no lick, no pick', for any objects in the environment, engaging in play and speaking about their experiences, like making a fire. Staff complete daily risk assessments, both inside and outside. In the forest school, they are aware of the need to make constant risk assessments and involve children in this process.
My son loves this nursery and has settled in so well. The staff are lovely and it makes such a difference having the core members of staff present there most days so they really get to know him, and him them. They do so many creative activities he wouldn’t get opportunity to do at home and almost daily exposure to the outdoors, the forest, animals etc. Not the cheapest option for childcare but worth every penny.
Read on GoogleOur daughter absolutely loves it here. Great staff who really care. Loads of outside time, animals, music, climbing and creative messy play. Staff couldn't let us know about a place until April before September start as they prioritise siblings. We just got a back up just in case. Not a problem.
Read on GoogleOur little one absolutely loves it there. The rooms are very engaging and there is a great outdoor space and some farm animals which he finds hilarious. The staff all seem to really care about the kids and he always seems to be having fun when we collect him.
Read on GoogleWe feel very lucky to have our daughter attend Mottingham Hall for Children. A very warm and caring environment. As added bonuses- the nursery building is recently refurbished, it is a forest school and has some lovely animals for the children to help care for. We can highly recommend.
Read on GoogleWe went to visit Mottingham Hall with our 2 year old in April and really got a good feeling from the nursery. Our tour guide/teacher was incredibly nice, engaging and informative. However at the end of our tour, we met with the head administrator who gave us the impression that there was a good possibility for September admission, if not before. We paid the deposit and submitted our application form. After not hearing back for a week or two, we called to confirm; it was received and I was told they would be in touch. Then nearly four months passed and they called to ask if we still wanted to be on the waiting list ( no offer of admission) to which we replied no as we had to secure an alternative given the time that had passed. When asked re: deposit I was flatly told it was non refundable. I can’t help but feel misled into thinking we would have a slot and communication was severely lacking from start to finish. Just wanted to give a heads up to other parents of the false pretence clearly evident in the admission process.
