Muriel Green brings about a lot of nostalgia when mentioned as it’s existed and served the community for over a decade and many generations. So, their reputation makes it a strong brand. They are able to mask the actual complacency, and sloppiness behind the smiles- in their disregard for the children and their well-being. Given that they are more trained then they were many years ago, they have become so in-genuine in what they are doing. It’s a pity they cannot let a child simply be happy and provide that happiness without impinging it with their own subjective judgement. A person who works in a nursery and cannot make a child happy might be described as having a lack of patience or interpersonal skills, struggling with a poor understanding of child behaviour. Whether, staff are no longer required to connect with children on their level in this day and age in this job? Or showing poor communication or interpersonal skills, with difficulty in building rapport and making a child feel comfortable is no longer a component? I would say is regrettable for the nursery and sadly it is more detrimental to the child. Therefore. I give it two reviews because it does a very good job of keeping up the persona it might have once lived up too.

Fantastic, nurturing place where children thrive. The staff are incredibly warm and attentive, creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment. With excellent facilities and a caring approach, it’s a wonderful choice for early years care!

I went to visit Muriel Green Nursery and was shown around by Sue. Sue and the staff are so lovely and you get a real sense of them being a family… they care about what they do! The children were all happy and I absolutely loved the visit. Thank you for showing us around

We never got a chance to send our daughter to this nursery which I must say, came highly recommended by a few of our neighbours. The reason for one star is down to absolutely appalling communication from the nursery manager: noone ever came back to us when I originally requested some information about the nursery, I must have chased 5 times; every time the manager said she will review our application, confirm the space or send us bank details to transfer the deposit etc., she never did without constant reminders from us; she was rude on a phone and just wouldn't listen. The icing on the cake was when the open morning was cancelled an hour before our appointment and we were notified via email - she didn't even bother to call or respond to emails/calls. When I sent her an email to say how disappointed I was with the way we were notified (I was 8 months pregnant and went to the open morning after a sleepless night feeling absolutely awful), she just said she was sorry to cancel the morning due to Covid. Long story short, we withdrew our application due to awful communication and manager's rudeness and her inability to listen.
