N Balham, a nursery situated in a beautifully restored period building, offers a stimulating environment for young children. Its seven playrooms are thoughtfully designed to support an early years curriculum, complemented by an atelier and a dedicated mini children’s kitchen.

The expansive garden is divided into four distinct zones, plus two additional growing areas, encouraging outdoor exploration and learning. For added family convenience, the day nursery provides a buggy, scooter, and bike storage facility.

Parents can also enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and snacks at the welcoming N Café during drop-off and pick-up times, fostering a sense of community. The day nursery operates 51 weeks a year, with standard hours from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, and extended hours from 7 am to 7 pm, subject to availability.

All meals are freshly prepared on-site, with menus designed to be balanced and nutritious, and include all food, drink, consumables and activities. The facility incorporates the latest air purification technology to ensure a healthy indoor atmosphere.

Fees are calculated as a daily rate based on age, with a minimum booking of three full days including a Monday or Friday. Monthly invoices are averaged over 51 weeks of the year and include bank holidays and inset days. Fees are fully inclusive of all food, drinks, consumables, and activities.

SEND provision

The manager and staff monitor children's progress closely and ensure that children receive additional support with their learning where needed. This helps all children to make good progress.

Outdoor space

Staff support children to lead active and healthy lifestyles. They ensure that children have plenty of active play, such as yoga sessions and balancing activities in the large garden. Older children show a secure understanding of good hygiene by reminding the inspector to wash her hands after visiting the garden to get rid of any germs.

Wonderful nursery, huge outdoor space, staff are super caring and involved and personable and the food is terrific. My daughter has been going to N family club since November and she’s truly happy there. Now that the weather is so nice she spends the majority of the day in the enormous outdoor garden. It is really exceptional for London to find a nursery with so much outdoor space and such a big focus on outdoor play. For my daughter staff turnover has been low, she’s in a group with 3 educators and I can say that more often than not the three permanent members have been present, but always at least 2 out of 3.

We’re really happy with the nursery, the ladies are lovely and very professional. Rae adores all the staff and we feel very lucky to have found such a great place. The garden is amazing!

Previous review was deleted. Shockingly snobby place. They will not even entertain showing you the nursery until you’ve paid them a deposit which feels utterly bizarre. Extremely pleased that we didn’t go with this nursery as I’ve only heard negative things about them.

A wonderful nursery with genuinely kind and caring staff. We knew as soon as we walked in that it would be a great fit for our son. He has been attending for over a year and is very happy, and has really bonded with his friends and carers.
