About this day nursery

Nonsuch Park Forest School Nursery Lodge offers a unique educational experience for children aged 2 to 5 years, fostering a deep appreciation for the natural world through outdoor wild play within the beautiful woodland areas and historic gardens of Nonsuch Park. The day nursery prioritises hands-on learning, encouraging exploration and adventure in a safe, secure environment.

Children are required to attend a minimum of two full days per week to fully benefit from the Forest School philosophy. The school provides a holistic approach to learning, with a curriculum designed to support each child's development, preparing them confidently for primary school.

Inside, two spacious main rooms are complemented by a "cosy room" for quiet activities and rest, and a separate messy play area.

The day nursery welcomes children from all backgrounds, accepting registrations in chronological order, and operates an "open door policy" for parents to participate in their children's learning journey.

Both my children went here and loved it. They spend time outside rain or shine, exploring, climbing, walking and it's just lovely. The teachers are all fantastic, they encourage the children to step outside their comfort zones and as a result I could see a huge growth in confidence. We still go to the park and they share stories from forest school. I loved her it was all about playing and the natural world. The management are great, lots of opportunities for parents to discover the setting and get involved. I wish they had a primary school, best decision I have ever made.

Both my children attended Nonsuch Park Forest school and I couldn't be more grateful. This isn't just a great childcare facility but rather a sanctuary where curiosity thrives and imaginations run wild. Every day brings new adventures, whether it's building forts from fallen branches, identifying different species of birds, or simply revealing in the joy of muddy puddles. The teachers are passionate about outdoor learning and use resources found in nature to support the learning. I could see my children's independence, resilience, and problem-solving skills grow with them!

Our daughter attended Little Oaks from the age of 2 until she started school and it was the best thing for her. She learnt so much, grew in confidence and developed a love for the outdoors and a fearlessness she wouldn’t have developed in an indoor only nursery. The staff are amazingly experienced and very nurturing. I never worried leaving her there and she was always happy to go. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this nursery.
