The nursery emphasises the critical importance of early years development, providing a stimulating environment led by experienced and responsive practitioners. It operates 52 weeks a year, from 7:30 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

The nursery is structured into age-specific rooms: "The Nest" for babies from 3 to 18 months, "Hedgehogs" for toddlers from 18 months, "Foxes" for 2-3 year olds, and "Badgers" as a Pre-School for children in their final year before school. Each room offers age-appropriate activities, focusing on sensory exploration, imaginative play, development of social and emotional skills, and preparation for school.

Outdoor play and exploration of the university grounds, including woodland walks, are integral to the children's routine, promoting physical development and a connection with nature. The nursery strongly believes in a partnership with parents, encouraging their involvement in planning, sharing achievements, and participating in nursery events to ensure each child's individual needs and interests are met.

What it's like

Children enter this welcoming nursery happily and settle easily on arrival, responding very positively to the friendly, caring staff. They move around the play areas confidently and show as content and comfortable in the nursery. Children learn to behave very well, interacting positively with friends and playing cooperatively.

Pricing & funding

Fees include a one-off administration and reservation charge. Government-funded hours do not cover meals, consumables, or extra activities, which are instead billed via additional voluntary charges depending on the booked session.
