Inclusion & environment
The nursery has strong SEND provision, with staff working closely with parents and professionals. Additional funding is allocated to meet the needs of children with SEND, who make good progress from their starting points.
Children and babies have opportunities for physical exercise in their separate outdoor areas. The setting has improved its outdoor space by introducing a sensory garden. However, the curriculum is not implemented as effectively in the outdoors, with fewer opportunities for mathematics or literacy.
Oakdale was suggested to me by a friend when I was looking for a new nursery for my son. From the first visit, I felt really at ease and comfortable with the staff. Staff are so friendly and the building is very spacious with areas specific to age and activities. It's also very clean. The government hours are utilised correctly (which I have found to not be the case in other places) and the app is updated every evening, so you know what activities your child has done and what they've eaten. My son started in September and he's developed loads. The staff turnover is very low which is also a good sign.
