About this day nursery

Oasis Childcare Centres, a registered charity, is dedicated to providing high-quality care where children can flourish emotionally, socially, and creatively. They believe in fostering an environment that celebrates each child's individuality and supports their growth by building on their strengths, interests, and natural curiosity.

The centres encourage exploration of the surrounding world while helping children develop new skills and build strong relationships. Oasis operates two distinct centres, Oasis Ludgvan and Oasis Marazion, both of which are open year-round.

The nursery actively promotes eco-friendly practices, having achieved Eco-Schools Green Flag accreditation, and integrates environmental awareness into its curriculum and daily operations. Children participate in gardening projects to learn about healthy lifestyles and engage in recycling efforts, significantly reducing the centre's waste.

The nursery focuses heavily on safeguarding children through a dedicated team and participation in Operation Encompass, ensuring timely support for children affected by domestic abuse. This commitment extends to providing an enriching learning environment that is both caring and supportive for all children.

Pricing & funding

Charges are calculated on an hourly basis, with rates structured across three age brackets from six months to four years. Out-of-school and holiday club care options are also available. Cancellations are charged at a reduced rate of fifty percent of the session fee.

Good to know

  • Rate transitions for birthdays mid-week take effect from the start of the following week.
  • Cancellations are charged at a reduced rate of 50% of the sessional rate.
  • A late collection fee of £30 may be charged for pick-ups after 6pm or persistent lateness.
  • Before-school club fees include breakfast cereal and toast.

Inspector highlights

  • Children make rapid progress with their communication skills, expertly taught new words and their meaning by staff.
  • Toddlers and pre-school children develop excellent physical skills playing in the large well-designed garden and forest school.
  • Children learn about numbers in all that they do, with staff skilfully interweaving numbers and counting into most activities.
  • Staff get to know children extremely well when they start, implementing excellent settling-in procedures and skilfully caring for them by following individual routines.
  • Partnerships with parents are excellent, with staff keeping them regularly informed about progress and next steps, and parents feeling incredibly supported.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

All children make excellent progress, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Parents of children with SEND praise the support the staff give to their children when they attend the nursery and their collaborative work with outside agencies. The special educational needs coordinator spoke to the inspector about how they support children with SEND.

Outdoor space

Toddlers and pre-school children develop excellent physical skills when playing in the large well-designed garden and in the forest school. They delight in climbing up steep slopes using rope ladders and climbing systems. Staff teach children to manage risks safely, for example, children take part in forest school activities and learn how to safely cook on fires, chop wood and climb trees.

A professional, well managed and caring environment for children. All our children love this place. It's always so well organized, and full of fun opportunities for children to grow and explore the world around them. The commitment of the staff is immediately evident. I can not recommend this place enough.
