About this day nursery

Playhub Day Nursery, located in Abbey Wood, SE2 9BB, is a childcare setting for children aged 1 to 3 years old. Registered in 2024, the nursery operates from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, all year round.

The nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, focusing on developing children's confidence and skills for the future, including communication, language, and personal, social, and emotional development. While the setting has made improvements in supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and ensuring safeguarding, the inspector noted that some planned activities are not appropriately targeted due to inconsistencies in staff's teaching skills.

Staff are caring and build strong relationships with children, helping new children settle in easily. Children have daily opportunities for outdoor play in the garden, with encouragement for robust physical play.

The nursery accommodates up to 34 children and prioritises their well-being, fostering a nurturing environment with positive role models and clear expectations for behaviour. Leaders collaborate with parents and external professionals to tailor support to individual children's needs, ensuring consistent care both at the nursery and at home.
