About this day nursery

The nursery operates year-round, closing only for bank holidays and during the Christmas period. They offer full-day care and morning/afternoon sessions, with an emphasis on consistency for children attending half-day sessions by requiring a minimum of two per week.

What parents say

Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Procedures for supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are outstanding. The manager provides highly individualised plans and works closely with other professionals. Staff use picture cards for children who are not in confident in communicating what they need. This enables all children to share their views, which staff very highly value.

Outdoor space

Children access exciting learning opportunities in the superb outdoor area. For example, children build towers in the builder's area or use their imagination in the mud kitchen. Outdoors, children use the equipment safely to climb and practise their excellent balancing skills.

We were stuck without a nursery after lockdown and Katherine & the team at Poppy Day Nursery helped us out. Great communication, organising to find space and even help dealing with our old nursery to retrieve a few bits. Our son has had so much fun already and the positive change after 3 months of no peer interaction has been so noticeable, we just wish we had found Poppy’s earlier! Staff are always super friendly and you can tell they care about the children rather than it just being a job, 5 stars all day long. Thank you to all at Poppy’s!
