About this day nursery

Puddleducks North Finchley, a valued member of the Puddleducks family since November 2020, is situated in the vibrant heart of North Finchley. This nursery provides a stimulating and enchanting setting that belies its urban location, featuring unique spaces like a children's roof garden and themed rooms such as a rainforest, disco room, aquatic area, and a dedicated storytelling corner.

The nursery is thoughtfully structured into three distinct wings to cater to different age groups: the Duckling Wing for babies under 24 months, the Ducks room for toddlers around 24 months, and the Swans room for pre-school children aged 3 to 5. Each section is designed to foster age-appropriate development, focusing on exploration, social skills, language acquisition, and preparing children for school through engaging activities aligned with the EYFS curriculum.

The experienced team, led by Emily, works in close partnership with parents to ensure individualised care, tailored routines, and consistent updates on each child's progress.

My baby started here as soon as she turned 1, and I have to say even in the lead up to her start date there was so much support from the staff which made the transition seamless. In just the couple of months she has been here already I can really see the progress of development and how much she loves it. She is so happy which makes us so content as we know she is in the best care. Also this was the only nursery in the area that was understanding to my work situation, and the manager Emily made every effort to be so accommodating to work around it which I’m also so greatful for. If you are looking for a home from home for your child as well as exceptional care from all the staff, and feeling like a true family, then look no further Puddleducks North Finchley is exceptional and I would 100% recommend

A fantastic nursery! I was really anxious as a first time mum returning to work and finding a trustworthy nursery for my 9 month old baby and Puddleducks were brilliant from the onset. They provided constant reassurance and every member of staff was extremely friendly and welcoming (special thanks to Luchya and Esther). They adapted seamlessly to my baby’s needs and schedule and formed a loving relationship with her. I also loved that even the little ones were kept busy with lots of fun activities. Would most definitely recommend!

The best place I could choose for my daughter Allison. Her beloved teacher Maria and the Manager Vania are always supporting her and us as a family making her experience fantastic with lots of fun and learn. My daughter is always happy to spend time with them. Surely recommended.

I wanted my daughter to join this nursery in N12 for government funded 15 hours a week (as she was about to finish 3 ).I went to ask about the conditions , costs etc. and had been informed, we can choose 38 or 51 weeks a year (so it would be 2 or 3 days x5 hours a week depends...). When my husband went to look around with my daughter (so she could see and play), he's been shown around, told the cost of everything ( we then thought ) and it was confirmed again there is an option of 38 weeks a year (by Emily) or 51 weeks , which she was "strongly advising"(this option was out of question for us). When I gave signed application form/contract few days later , I've been told there is no such a possibility to do 38 weeks (of 15 hours) in this nursery - by the same lady !!! (she said, my husband misunderstood ! but I said the other lady told me same before! Emily then said "she needs to check it as she never heard they offer 38 weeks a year option !!!). When I asked for my signed papers back, then 38 weeks was suddenly OK. Then I asked specifically, if there is no any admin costs, if we join only government funded hours (as nobody mentioned anything before) , it came up, that yes, there is a £100 non refundable admin payment . We withdrew the application as we did not feel confident enough and couldn't trust them, especially with the child ! So dishonest and disappointing... Ps. It is not about completely free childcare but about honesty, it should be said when everything was discussed! (It was never mentioned as all the other costs were -including extra hours , lunches ...we were willing to pay for ). It clearly looks like things are not said on purpose by the staff...Anyway, we found different nursery where we and a child are happy . Thank you

Very nice nursery. My son Andrew enjoyed his time there, learned a lot with fun and made friends. Very happy to see him always coming out with big smiles when I picked him up.
