About this day nursery

Rascalz, established in 2017, provides childcare for children aged 0-11 years, operating all year round from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 6 pm. The nursery prides itself on a warm, welcoming atmosphere, helping children to feel secure and confident from the moment they arrive.

Its 'home from home' ethos ensures strong continuity of care, which is vital for children's emotional well-being, learning, and development. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to cover key milestones across all areas of learning, with staff using children's interests to plan engaging activities, such as introducing mathematics with dinosaurs or using sensory play to build social skills.

The nursery effectively supports children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) by using on-entry checks and regular assessments to identify any learning gaps. This information is then shared with parents and other professionals to provide targeted support, ensuring smooth transitions for all children.

Outdoors, Rascalz promotes physical development, with younger children learning to balance, climb, and ride bicycles, showing resilience and determination as they develop coordination and fine motor skills. Staff build strong relationships with children through an effective key-person system and communicate regularly with parents via daily diaries and by encouraging shared 'wow moments' from home.
