Rosy Cheeks Nursery in Bentilee, Stoke-on-Trent, provides care for children aged one to three. It is open all year, Monday to Friday, from 7.30am to 5.30pm, and offers funded early education places for eligible children. In December 2024, Ofsted judged the day nursery to be Outstanding.

The inspector noted that children feel safe, happy, settled, and are motivated to participate. Staff are described as knowledgeable and ambitious, creating a curriculum with rich experiences and skilfully including mathematics in daily activities. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported to make exceptional progress through expertly adapted teaching. The day nursery provides freshly prepared, balanced vegetarian meals cooked on site. Parents speak highly of the setting, praising the staff's communication and dedication.

What it's like

Children demonstrate that they feel safe, happy, settled, and are motivated to participate in the rich learning experiences that staff have prepared. They arrive at the nursery with elevated levels of enthusiasm and anticipation for the day, and excitedly greet their friends and the staff. Staff have a deep understanding of how young children develop, and they plan fun activities to support children's future learning. Babies squeal with laughter and show that they have very strong bonds with staff, who consistently model respectful behaviour and boundaries, resulting in excellent behaviour across the nursery.
