What parents say

Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection

Parents say that the nursery is very helpful to their children with SEND.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive support from the nursery. Leaders ensure that timely referrals are made to other agencies and work closely with other professionals. Leaders develop specific targeted learning plans for children with SEND to help close the gaps in their learning.

Outdoor space

Children benefit from a vast outdoor environment and enjoy nature walks. Older children create bug hotels and learn about insects. Younger children practise using their large-muscle skills as staff teach them how to safely go up and down steps. Children learn how to keep themselves warm and how to put on their scarves and gloves.

EAL / language support

Children who speak English as an additional language are particularly well supported. Staff use a range of signs and visual aids to support children's understanding. They ensure that children who may need extra support are always in close proximity to an adult, who ensures that their needs are met. As a result, children who speak English as an additional language make excellent progress in their learning.

My Son has just moved up from the baby room at Ryehills and his time here was absolutely great. Such a wonderful team of practitioners who certainly know there stuff and work very well together. It's wonderful that he's received such love, care and attention in the first stages of his life. It's hard enough for new parents to leave their precious little one in the hands of others, but they've certainly made it easier for us! We're just in next stages of moving into toddlers/two's where he's definitely finding his happy, energetic feet with more room to run around! The list of activities I hear he's done each day is just magical. The only thing I would say is very different is the que for pick up is obviously quite a bit bigger. So take it from me, it's worth collecting earlier to beat the rush! Each person does make sure to take the time to tell you about your child's day so that doesn't get effected even if you are running slightly late. We all do it, don't we!? I know my little man is exploring, learning and slowly but surely thriving each day in their hands. It sure does appear to be a haven for young minds to explore and I can see their only making improvements.

Both our children have gone to this nursery and have been very happy. The outdoor forest school space can't be beaten by any other nursery, it is incredible! Communication with the staff is amazing and I feel like we are kept up to date with what the children do every day and how well they are doing. The manager Rachael is incredible and has a lovely relationship with my SEN child. She has been responsible for all of his referrals when he started nursery nearly 2 years ago and on going referrals and support. I feel like staff genuinely care about my son which is a lovely feeling! We highly recommend Ryehills ❤️.

Our family love Ryehills Nursery. All the Staff are fantastic and really look after our Children. Miss Rachael and Miss Lizzy have been a fabulous help supporting our son through lots of challenges he has faced. The activities and adventures they go on are so well thought out especially when they go to Forest School.

Both of our children love going to nursery at Ryehills. All of the staff are very friendly and supportive. Communication is great both on the Famly app and at the end of day handover. Our son adores Miss Ellie - she is incredibly calm and encouraging with the children. We would 100% recommend Ryehills!
