, for 51 weeks a year, the nursery provides a comprehensive early years experience. The facility, located in the old Annex with an extended Preschool room, focuses on fostering exploration and independent learning.
The nursery implements its educational approach through play and engagement with both indoor and outdoor environments, embracing a Forest School methodology. Children are encouraged to take risks, extend their activities, and use their imaginations to deepen their learning.
The highly qualified team creates an environment rich with opportunities and experiences, celebrating each child's uniqueness and helping them develop a greater understanding of themselves and the world. The nursery divides its care into distinct age-based rooms: Walnut Room (3-18 months), Birch Room (18 months-2 years), Cedar Room (2-3 years), and Oak Room (3-5 years).
Each child is assigned a key worker who tracks their progress using an online tool, sharing milestones and observations with parents. Seedlings Day Nursery was rated 'GOOD' by Ofsted in March 2023.
Our ethos
At Seedlings Day Nursery we strive to create a safe and stimulating environment in which children are free to explore and learn independently, as well as being supported by practitioners to achieve their full potential. We implement this through play and exploration of the indoor and outdoor environments, which also includes the Forest School approach to sessions. Children are encouraged to explore, take risks, extend on their activities and engage their imaginations to take their learning opportunities further.

SEND provision
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported well throughout the nursery. The manager and special educational needs coordinator work with children's key persons, parents and external agencies to access the right support. They work together to plan and implement strategies that enable children to make good progress in their development.
Outdoor space
Children have ample opportunities to play and explore outside and grow their own vegetables. For example, children plant seeds and discuss how the carrots will make their bodies 'big' and 'strong'.
