Seend Playgroup, located in Melksham, Wiltshire, has been a cornerstone of early childhood education for over five decades, with some current parents having attended as children. The playgroup operates from the Irene Usher Memorial Pavilion, offering children a stimulating environment that spans both indoor and outdoor activities.

With direct access to The Lye playing field, children are encouraged to engage with nature and varied play equipment. The dedicated team, all of whom are mothers with qualifications in early years training or Pre-School Learning Alliance, fosters a rich curriculum.

This includes traditional pre-school activities like painting and imaginative play, alongside unique village outings such as blackberry picking, nature walks, and visits to Seend School and Church. Further afield, children have explored community farms, forest schools, and even Trowbridge Fire Station.

Parental involvement is highly valued, with opportunities for families to participate in the group’s activities and their child's developmental journey. The playgroup is a registered charity and has been rated as a "Good" provider by Ofsted.

What it's like

Children thoroughly enjoy spending time at this friendly and welcoming playgroup. They settle very quickly, form strong bonds with the caring staff and make firm friendships with other children. Children are confident and independent, learning to manage their own personal care and interacting kindly with others.

Charges are structured around a flat hourly rate. Fees are fully inclusive of consumables, additional services, and trips.
