About this day nursery

Shooting Stars Nursery School, established in January 2020, operates across two locations in Basingstoke: Old Down Hall and Kempshott Village Hall. The nursery caters to children aged 6 months to 5 years, providing full-day and term-time only spaces from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, 50 weeks a year.

A key aspect of their approach is "in the moment planning," where they observe children's engagement and build learning around their interests rather than pre-planned activities. They provide diverse hands-on learning experiences and aim to develop the whole child, focusing on emotional and physical readiness for school.

This includes fostering a growth mindset and teaching emotional regulation. The nursery prides itself on high adult-to-child ratios and offers breakfast, lunch, and tea.

They also collaborate with Hampshire County Council to provide universal and extended funded education.

The youngest of my 6 children attends this nursery and it is by far the best I have dealt with. The staff are amazing, they have so much time for the children and concentrate on each child’s needs.....they are kind, friendly and professional. I leave my daughter there safe in the knowledge that my daughter is not only being cared for but is really enjoying herself. I’ll be sad when she leaves to attend ‘big school’ this year. Highly recommended.

This is a brilliant nursery. The staff are so friendly and accommodating to every child's needs. I have a 3 and 1 year old who attend and they both absolutely love it! I couldn't recommend it more.
