Smiley Faces Nursery, established in 2004 by Joy Francis, is a welcoming day nursery dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive from infancy through to their preschool years. The nursery focuses on supporting children's developmental journey from three months to 56 months, employing a play-based approach within a secure and inspiring setting.

They emphasise hands-on learning, encouraging exploration, communication, and the development of confidence and self-awareness in their baby, toddler, and preschool rooms. The outdoor learning area also plays a crucial role, offering ample space and resources for children to develop physical skills and emotional well-being.

Committed to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) principles, Smiley Faces Nursery provides planned activities that broaden children's knowledge and strengthen their skills at their own pace. The energetic staff team, highly qualified and continuously developing their skills, ensures a supportive and enriching experience for every child.

They also offer government-funded early education places for eligible 3 and 4-year-olds, alongside optional services that enhance the children's daily experience.

What it's like

Children arrive and settle quickly as they are warmly greeted by staff. Management have designed a clear curriculum focused on supporting children to develop their listening, attention, communication and social skills. Children's awareness of caring for living things is supported through a range of real-life, hands-on learning experiences.

Pricing & funding

Charges are based on an hourly rate for additional care beyond funded hours, alongside a daily charge for optional extras. This daily fee covers meals, snacks, and non-food consumables. Extra-curricular activities are billed separately with prior parental agreement.
