Square One Nursery is such a wonderful oasis of fun, laughter and kindness nurturing a desire to be inquisitive and learn about the wider world. We first walked through their welcoming doors over ten years ago and never looked back. Mrs. Pittam and her wonderful colleagues have looked after all three of our girls, preparing them (and us!) for school, encouraging them to be independent thinkers and to have the courage to express and explore their own ideas. Mrs. Martinez even managed to get our youngest to eat a mushroom! We have so much affection for the staff at Square One, many of whom have been there for all three of our girls. To be part of the Square One community is to be part of a family and we continue to keep in touch with many of the other children, parents and staff who also shared our nursery journey, even ten years on from when it began.

We absolutely love Square One Nursery! Both of my children have gone here, and my older son still talks about his time there. The teachers really are fantastic – so caring, friendly and knowledgable. Many of the staff have been there for years, which says a lot. They were amazing when my boys were potty training. I also love that it’s family-run. Mrs Pittam runs it so well. Nothing is ever a problem and she always takes the time to talk to each family. My sons love the large outdoor play area which is so rare to find in Putney! The experiences the children have here are impressive. They have teachers who come into nursery to teach sports and music and Mrs Martinez who is part of the nursery, teaches Spanish. My son is often coming out with something he has baked or made. This week they made pumpkin soup and bread rolls! When they reach their final year, they do visits to the Polka Theatre and the local area which my boys loved. Academically the children are so well prepared for starting school. I am a primary school teacher myself and was impressed with how the children are so well equipped for Reception. We’ve always felt our children were happy, safe, and well looked after at Square and we couldn’t recommend it more!

I’ve had two children at Sqaure One and couldn’t recommend it more, A loving , warm environment perfect for children to thrive in. The teachers are amazing! truly have their whole hearts in teaching, it’s shown every day in the throughly thought out activities/lessons. My daughter went into her big school confident & ready due to the time and attention given to her at Sqaure One. Again, couldn’t recommended this nursery enough!

My daughter currently goes to Square One and absolutely loves it. She looks forward to going each morning, telling us which activity she'll be doing that day. Her confidence has increased a lot since attending. All the nursery staff have been so kind, caring and supportive and have gone the extra mile too at times when I've needed advice re schools etc. I would highly recommend Square 1. Thank you for everything over this past year.

We had such a positive happy experience at Square One. Our middle child absolutely thrived. He started at the end of lockdown so there was no opportunity to visit inside or be present for settling in sessions. The staff are experienced (with very low staff turnover) and they really know and care for each child. Ours was slightly delayed speech and they helped him and his friends with some communicative gestures to remove frustrations from lack of words. Traditions are strong here and the parents/carers/nannies have a lovely community too. Would thoroughly recommend. You won’t see whiz bang online presence because their focus is on the here and now with the children.
