St. Peter's Nursery School, established in 2023, provides nurturing childcare for children aged 2 to 4 years in Staines-upon-Thames. The setting has been recognised by Ofsted as "Requires Improvement" following its latest inspection on 10th December 2025.
It operates Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The nursery takes pride in its warm and welcoming environment, where children are encouraged to develop physical skills through outdoor play and maintain good health with nutritious meals and robust hygiene practices.
Leaders and staff demonstrate a clear understanding of their responsibilities in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), providing targeted support and working closely with parents and other agencies. While the nursery has an ambitious curriculum that aligns with the EYFS framework, there are areas for improvement, particularly in ensuring staff consistently adapt teaching to individual children's needs and effectively manage group behaviour to enhance learning.
Our ethos
At St. Peter’s we believe in learning through discovery. Our focus is on the child as an individual, growing, experiencing, developing, learning about him/herself and the world around him/her. Our goal is to provide an enriched environment in which this natural curiosity is enhanced and nourished, an environment that encourages a child to think, question, reason, predict, and experiment. Learning is enhanced through play and hands-on experiences. Educating the whole child provides the child with a healthy self-concept that encourages confidence in future academic endeavours.
What it's like
Children happily enter the warm and welcoming setting and settle quickly into the daily routine. Staff greet children on arrival and ask parents about their child's wellbeing, which helps them meet their individual needs each day. Most children converse confidently with staff and readily recall past experiences. However, during group activities, children's behaviour becomes more challenging, and staff do not consistently implement the setting's rules and boundaries, impacting learning.

My daughter started nursery here few months before, she loved it very much. As a new country and new language, I was very worried about her growth but with the help of Miss. Iwona she is doing great more than I expected. All thanks to Miss. Iwona for making this transition very easy for my daughter and she is taking care of kids as like a mom does.

The best nursery for my son Luca. He has a great time here. 10* Everything here was over my expectations and I'm so grateful for everything. Manager Sarah and staff are so friendly, kind, helpful, working hard for the interest of our kids. Best communication nursery staff - parents. All the time informed about everything. My son has a huge improvement helped by this lovely staff. We wish you all the best in the future🤗😍🥰. Luca loves you all a lot and keep asking everyday when we go to nursery. Baby girl (14 months) went to st Peter's nursery for more than six months and absolutely love it. She came home with more words and more alerts about exploring surroundings and things. They did such a good job to educate her and to guide her growing well 👏 👍 well done
