Areas to develop
Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
Parents say that they are pleased with the care their children receive. They describe the staff as 'approachable' and 'friendly'. Parents comment positively on the progress their children make and the regular information they receive about their children's daily experiences.
Inclusion & environment
Staff support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) to make good progress. When staff identify any delays in children's development, they devise appropriate support plans and involve parents in deciding learning targets and making referrals to external agencies. The manager ensures staff receive further training so children receive the right support.
Although children are very keen to play outside, staff have not considered the outdoor area well enough to ensure the quality of education is consistent both indoors and outdoors. In the baby room, furniture is positioned thoughtfully so that babies can pull themselves to a standing position and build strength in their legs, enjoying plenty of opportunities to extend their mobility on the climbing frame and slide.
I have had all 3 of my children at Step by Step over the last 5 years. I have never been happier, this nursery has been like a second home. My kids have been well looked after, have over achieved on their milestones and excelled in their social skills. Step by step have provided comfort and joy and sadly recently received an inadequate report from Offstead. The teachers and parents gathered to review the report and as parents we have collectively agreed that the report did not paint an accurate or fair picture of the nursery as a whole. It is a truly amazing and caring nursery. The manager and owner are always on hand to help you in any situation and not enough credit is given to them and the staff. Thank you step by step!
Read on GoogleVery good nursery! My son has been attending since he was 8months old, he is almost 4yrs now and still goes the Nursery! Step by Step is a good nursery. The staff are very lovely, respectful and so nice. I recommend this if you are looking for a good place to put your child… ❤️
Read on GoogleOur daughter has been here for a few months. She loves it. We were worried about leaving her but their team made that transition very easy over a few weeks. Our daughter couldn't be happier. Update: we ended up removing our daughter as we felt uncomfortable with somethings the owner said.
Read on GoogleDuring the time my child attended this nursery the childrens toys were brick and brack. Everthing was broken. She came home in different childrens nappy. Manager was unprofessional and rude. In addition this nursery is a fraud. Took payments via cash during the duration my child attended so they can avoid being taxed. The managers respect for staff is 0. Very rude shouts at them the sense of atmosphere is very bad. This nursery needs to be shut down. Don't be fooled by the reviews.
Read on GoogleMy child has been attending for one month so far and he has transitioned very well to attending 4 days a week leaving happy and smiling every day.
