Sunrise Day Nursery (Langley) Limited, established in 1993 by Julie Starns, who has been a qualified early years educator since 1989, provides full-day childcare for children aged 6 months to 5 years. Located in a historic Kentish ragstone building that has served as an educational institution since 1854, the nursery aims to unlock each child's unique potential by offering a nurturing and stimulating environment.

The dedicated team values play as a fundamental aspect of learning, building strong foundations for children in their early years. The nursery expanded its services in 2011 with an additional setting in Harrietsham.

Julie Starns manages the Langley setting daily, working closely with the team and maintaining an active role in both locations, welcoming communication from all parents.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Those children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are seamlessly included by staff in every aspect of the routines. Staff consult with professional advisors and allocate funding to ensure that necessary enhancements are made to the provision. There is a significant focus on communication and language.

Outdoor space

Staff have recently reflected on how children are accessing and interacting with the learning environment. They have modified and improved the outdoor play space to enhance children's experiences.

Sunrise nursery is a really special place to send your child, you can see why they are Ofsted Outstanding. Whilst other nurseries have been good, Sunrise takes it a step higher on many levels. One example is the management of the nursery. They have a good admin staff that keep things ticking and the staff on the nursery floor obviously plan things out. This results in cohesive parent / teacher relations and engaging teacher / child development. It feels there is a general plan going on, and they are all pushing in the right direction. Every single nursery teacher is a star in their own right, and they all have interesting stories to tell regarding all the activities and feedback they have from the kids. Every teacher really puts in the effort. VIcky, Chloe and Hayleigh have been really fantastic, but to be honest the whole team are really A*. Everyone knows my kid, and it feels like the teachers really engage with the children. Never once have I felt my kid was 'lost in the system'. Online portals and other fancy bits do help with feedback, but the staff are what makes the place, and I couldn't recommend this place high enough.
