Sunshine Day Nursery, operating since 2009, provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 0–4 years. 30am to 6pm, 51 weeks a year, the nursery ensures children are happy and settled, forming strong bonds with their key persons.
Children confidently engage in the nursery routine, self-registering and independently storing their belongings upon arrival. Leaders have implemented an ambitious curriculum designed to offer a rich variety of experiences, supported by a dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) who ensures all children, including those with SEND, receive tailored support to achieve their best outcomes.
The nursery promotes physical activity with well-organised indoor and outdoor spaces, where practitioners thoughtfully arrange equipment to encourage babies to develop gross motor skills like pulling themselves up and walking. Parents commend the enriching experiences available, such as yoga and French lessons, highlighting the collaborative approach between parents and practitioners in supporting children's learning.

Inclusion & environment
The special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) supports leaders in ensuring all children have access to a broad and meaningful curriculum. She works with parents and professionals to put focused plans in place for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), ensuring all children receive the support they need to achieve the best outcomes.
Children are physically active in their play. They move around the well-organised environments, ready to explore and learn. Play equipment and environments are carefully thought out, and practitioners create areas that encourage babies to practise skills such as pulling themselves up and walking.
Worst nursery experience I’ve had. I was left in tears after dealing with the owner Steve and nursery manager Allison. Their behaviour was aggressive and demanding, and they acted together in a way that was intimidating and unprofessional. There was a clear lack of professional boundaries in how they communicated. As a parent, this seriously undermined my confidence in the setting.
Read on GoogleBoth of my children have gone through Sunshine from babies to confident 4 year olds and have been so well cared for. The staff are wonderful, energetic and nurturing. So much so that my children can't wait to go to nursery each day and come home bursting with little stories about their day. The new building is fantastic, light and spacious. The various activities on offer, from French and ballet lessons, trips to local parks, libraries and the beach, all add up to a wonderful experience. My children have especially enjoyed watching chicks hatch, visiting local school Christmas performances and baking with the practitioners. I highly recommend this nursery, it is vibrant and caring.
Read on GoogleSunshine is a beautiful nursery inside and out! The owners, management team and practitioners are all fantastic and they are easy to approach - even when you know they are busy they will always make time for you. Our child is in Pre School 2 and she absolutely loves it. She has such a special bond with the practitioners - especially her key worker. Our child always comes home happy and tells us about what she’s been learning, how she enjoys her French lessons, trips to the park with her friends, lunch on coronation green with the fairy doors 🧚 and playing in the lovely garden. It’s such a big decision picking a nursery for your child and picking Sunshine was the best decision we made. I would 100% recommend this nursery to everyone. Thank you for everything you do for the children 💕 x
Read on GoogleAbsolutely fantastic nursery! Both of my daughters attend Sunshine and I couldn't be happier with the excellent care they receive here. The recent renovations mean the different rooms are really spacious, bright and full of stimulating activities for all age groups. The communication with parents is outstanding both using the ParentZone iConnect app, monthly newsletters and 1:1 conversations with nursery practitioners at pick up and drop off. I was particularly impressed today with the 'School Leavers' Spring Singalong Performance at the Shoreham Centre. The nursery practitioners must have invested so much time in preparing the children who got so much out of the event. Utterly adorable. Most importantly I feel my daughters are safe, well looked after and staff go above and beyond for each child. Thank you Sunshine staff.
Read on GoogleI knew from the second I visited Sunshine that my daughter would be very happy there and she has been there for 3 years now! She started in the baby room and is now in PS2 and is going to be leaving for school this year. I could not have wished for a more nurturing, caring, supportive environment for her during these early years. The new building is amazing, very spacious with great areas for the children to learn and play. The staff are amazing and are always creating new activities to keep the children engaged. We will miss them all very much when school starts in September.
