About this day nursery

The Colour Corner, located in Wetherby, is an art studio designed for children aged 5-12, fostering creativity and individual expression. Founded by Kimberley, who has a background in Costume Design, Art, Textiles, and Design Technology education, the studio provides a safe and welcoming environment for artistic exploration.

Kimberley's passion for art and education, combined with her experience in creating resources for primary school students, inspired her to open The Colour Corner. The studio offers a variety of art sessions, including after-school, weekend, and holiday clubs, as well as specialised sessions for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and art-themed parties.

Children can engage in diverse artistic techniques and mediums, with an emphasis on fostering comfort in expressing ideas and enjoying the creative process. The studio aims to nurture artistic talents, enhance skills, and build confidence through engaging projects and the exploration of various materials.

Kimberley, who is Enhanced DBS checked, paediatric first aid trained, safeguarding trained, and Ofsted registered, ensures a supportive and inspiring space for all young artists.

Pricing & funding

Charges are based on a per-child rate for two-hour party bookings. All materials are included in the price, but food is not provided. A deposit is required to secure the booking date.

We recently celebrated my daughter’s 10th birthday at Colour Corner, and it was absolutely wonderful from start to finish! Seven of her friends joined her for a delightful two-hour party creating beautiful pictures of a robin. The girls had the chance to work with paints and oil pastels, adding texture and detail to their artwork – it was such a creative and engaging experience. Every single picture turned out beautifully, and the girls were so proud of what they created. The studio itself is a really lovely space — bright, welcoming and very roomy, with everything you could possibly need for a creative session. There was plenty of space for the girls to spread out and enjoy themselves comfortably. Such a relaxed atmosphere, it made for the perfect setting for a special celebration. All communication with Kim was so easy from the very beginning. She was incredibly accommodating and absolutely fantastic with the girls – patient, encouraging, and so warm and friendly. The girls had a super time, and we will most definitely be back. Highly recommend for a creative and memorable party experience!

Such a wonderful art studio; catering for art lessons; clubs and parties. My daughter had her party here with a few friends - painting ‘sunsets at the beach’ on canvases. Everything was laid out beautifully, with an array of art & craft supplies. Kim is so friendly & professional; creating a very relaxed atmosphere for everyone, whilst gently nurturing the abilities of budding artists! A little gem of a place - exactly what Wetherby needs!

The Colour Corner is an absolute haven for craft lovers. Kimberley is inspiring the next generation of artists. Kim’s nothing is too much hassle; amazingly positive and calm attitude, encourages budding artists to be creative. Her professionalism ensures guardians feel confident to leave their little artists in her capable hands for workshop sessions. Her workshop ideas and thus creations brought away are amazing. Everyone feels proud of what they create with Kimberley and always want to return. Kimberley truly is creating a special place for children and adults. Thank you! You are amazing and most needed in Wetherby. Keep up the magic!

Amazing place - we are so enjoying the activities and beautiful friendly vibe that Kim offers at the Colour Corner. My 11 year old has attended the termly art classes for a few months now and some of the holiday clubs. She is inspired by different projects and has enjoyed creating some wonderful things. We love it here! Highly recommended!
